    EL ORO WILL HOST ITS FIRST CONMEBOL SUDAMERICANA MATCH 

    March 5, 2026, will be a highly anticipated date for sports fans in El Oro. The Estadio 9 de Mayo – Banco de Machala will host its first-ever international club competition match, following Orense S.C.’s qualification for the CONMEBOL Sudamericana as Ecuador 1. This status allows the team to play at home in the preliminary round of the tournament.

    The match will be a single-leg encounter against Macará, with the winner advancing to the group stage of the international competition. There is strong anticipation that the provincial team will achieve this long-awaited qualification, which would allow Machala and El Oro to host at least three additional matches against international clubs.

    On December 9, our founder, Mr. Euclides Palacios, together with Eng. Darwin Palacios, donated a metal roof structure to the “Provincia de Los Ríos” Basic Education School, located in Barbones, benefiting 930 students.

    The structure, named “Euclides Palacios” in honor of its main promoter, will provide a safe and suitable space for sports and civic activities at the school, contributing to the comprehensive development of children.

          On December 1, Palmaplast officially presented two new extrusion machines incorporated into its industrial plant, as part of a strategic investment aimed at strengthening production capacity and advancing its modernization process.
           
          The event included a ceremonial act during which the new equipment was blessed, symbolically marking the start of operations and reaffirming the company’s commitment to responsible and sustainable growth. Executives and employees participated in a guided tour of the facilities, where they were able to learn firsthand about the operation of the new extruders and their contribution to process optimization.

          The event was also attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Danilo Palacios, reaffirming institutional support for initiatives that drive innovation in Ecuador’s agricultural sector.
