On May 17, as part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, Palmar held the first edition of the “Palmi Day 3K” race, an initiative aligned with the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal (SDG): Good Health and Well-Being.

“Palmi Day” was created as an initiative to commemorate International Banana Day and Family Day, two dates of great significance for the corporation. Since then, various activities have been developed to promote integration and well-being.

In 2024, Palmar organized a healthy food contest with its field crews, encouraging positive habits and strengthening a sense of belonging. This year, the day focused on sports as a tool to foster health, motivation, and team connection.

“Over a thousand people, including employees and their families, joined this event that reaffirmed Palmar’s commitment to health, sports, and family integration”

Lic. Antonella Palacios, Directora de Comunicación de Corporación Palmar.

The race took place along a 3- kilometer route connecting different group farms, with roads in excellent condition and a Contingency Plan endorsed by the El Guabo Municipal Government.

A total of 400 employees from Agrícolas Palmar participated, divided into four categories: senior and master, both male and female. The day concluded with an award ceremony that included artistic performances, contests, brand stands, drug prevention talks, and activities for the whole family

Palmar thanks the support of Global Fresh Trading, local brands, media outlets, sports institutions, athletes, executives, and everyone who made this impactful event possible.

On June 1, the third edition of Palmas Unidas took place, Palmar’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program aligned with the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG): Quality Education. This initiative is designed to promote reading, creativity, and learning among children aged 5 to 12, encouraging values and knowledge that contribute to their development and personal growth.

Launched in 2023, Palmas Unidas seeks to strengthen children’s education through content connected to the SDGs, promoting critical thinking, leadership, and an awareness of their environment.

In its third edition, the program succeeded in delivering 300 books to children in rural areas through a two-stage process. The first stage was an open digital campaign that gathered 150 books with the enthusiastic support of employees and the general public. These books were donated to the children of our allied producers’ employees.

The second stage was carried out in person, with 150 more books delivered directly to the children of our field workers during a special event that included dramatized readings, playful activities, and learning spaces.

“With small actions, we are transforming lives”,
    said company representatives.

It is worth highlighting that the booksdelivered were written by Krupskaya Pereira, a renowned author from El Oro, reaffirming Palmar’s support for Ecuadorian talent. Palmar extends its gratitude to the local brands, collaborators, and individuals who made this initiative possible, and reaffirms its commitment to education as a driver of change. We invite more organizations and citizens to join this collective effort that plants the seeds of a brighter future for the next generations.

    THANK YOU!
For helping us plant the seeds of the future
